Subject: Carriage Hills -- A Moment of Truth

Dear Friends of Eagan's Open Space,

The show down over Eagan's response to the Carriage Hills development threat will come to a head tomorrow evening at the Eagan Municipal Center. At that time, the Eagan City Council will vote on whether or not to accept the development proposal for Carriage Hills put before them by the developer, Terry Wensmann.

It remains to be seen whether or not the recent Minnesota Supreme Court decision on the development of Mendota Height's par 3 golf course will have any bearing on the Eagan Council vote. Last week the Minnesota Supreme Court came down in *favor* of Mendota Heights and its Comprehensive Plan. Mendota Heights arguably had a weaker case to support the integrity of its Comp Plan than Eagan does.

What: Eagan City Council Meeting
When: Tuesday, January 17th, 2006
Time: 6:30 p.m. --- This topic will be discussed under ""VIII. New Business:
A. COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE PLAN AMENDMENT - Wensmann Homes -
A Comprehensive Guide Plan Amendment of 120 acres from Park (P) to Special Area (SA) located
at 3535 Wescott Woodlands in the east ½ of Section 14.
Where: Eagan Municipal Center --- Council Chambers
Address: 3830 Pilot Knob Road --- the southeast corner of Pilot Knob & Wescott Road --- Eagan, MN 55122
Phone: (651)-675-5000 (City Gov't)
Goal: To provide citizen testimony about the costs and damages of
changing our City's Comp Plan because of a law suit brought
on by disgruntled developer.
To encourage City Council to stay the course to save the course,
especially in the light of the recent Supreme Court decision
in favor of the integrity of Mendota Heights' Comprehensive Plan.

Your presence at this Council meeting will be critical!

Nothing will send a strong message to the Council like your physical presence and oral testimony (following the principle spokespersons for the Carriage Hills Coalition). There is also still time to e-mail your views to your Council members (see announcement below.)

We need your presence & support on Tuesday!
